About EdgePeak

We are a small independent review desk in London. We publish assessments of casino brands licensed to accept British customers, and we print the operator licence reference on every one so that our central claim is the easiest thing on the page to fact-check.

Why we exist

EdgePeak was established in 2026 for a narrow and slightly unglamorous reason: most British casino reviews do not tell you who actually holds the licence.

A very large share of the brands marketed to UK customers are white labels. The name on the header belongs to a marketing brand; the Gambling Commission licence, the customer contract, the complaints obligation and the money all sit with a different company underneath. That is a perfectly legal and extremely ordinary arrangement — but it is not disclosed nearly often enough, and it is the single most important thing to know before you deposit. If something goes wrong, the entity you are dealing with is the licensee, not the logo.

So we start every assessment on the public register rather than on the brand's own marketing pages, and we publish what we find: the licensed operator, the account number, the licence reference and a direct link. You should be able to reproduce our licensing claim in under a minute. If you cannot, we have failed at the only part of this that is objectively verifiable.

Our method

Six pillars, fixed weightings, applied identically to every brand. The weightings do not move for commercial reasons, and no operator sees a score before it is published.

PillarWeightWhat it measures
Licensing 30% Register first
Banking 25% Money out, not in
The Terms 20% Read the small print
Support 10% Ask a hard question
Mobile 10% Thumb test
Safer Tools 5% Brakes included

You will notice that banking carries more weight than promotional terms, and that promotional terms are graded on clarity rather than headline size. That is deliberate. A welcome offer is a one-off event; the withdrawal process is something you live with for as long as you hold the account. A generous-looking offer attached to a forty-times wagering requirement and a low conversion cap is worth less than a modest one you can actually clear, and we score it that way.

Editorial rules we will not break

  • No paid positions. Ranking is a function of the score. It cannot be bought, and no brand has ever been offered the option.
  • No pre-publication approval. Operators do not see reviews before they go live and cannot request changes to opinion. They may, of course, correct a factual error — and we will publish the correction.
  • No hidden commercial links. Every outbound link that may earn us a commission is marked, and our full arrangement is set out on the Disclosure page.
  • No unlicensed operators. We will not review, link to, or accept any arrangement with an operator that is not licensed by the Gambling Commission to accept customers in Great Britain. There are no exceptions to this one.
  • No targeting of under-18s. Every page carries an 18+ notice, and nothing in our design, imagery or wording is intended to appeal to children.
  • No inflated scores. Nothing on this website is rated 10/10. A perfect score would be a marketing device, not an assessment.
  • Corrections are published, not quietly edited. If we get something materially wrong, we say so on the page.

The desk

EdgePeak is deliberately small. Three roles cover the work, and every published assessment is checked by someone other than the person who wrote it.

  • Editorial lead — sets the scoring method, signs off every published assessment, and owns corrections.
  • Licensing and compliance — runs the public register checks, confirms which entity holds each licence, and re-verifies at every quarterly sweep.
  • Testing — registers the accounts, funds them, questions live chat, requests the withdrawals and times what happens next.

We fund our own testing

Accounts are opened with our own money, not with operator-provided credit or comped balances. That costs more and it is the only way the banking section means anything.

How we are funded

When a reader opens an account through one of our outbound links, the operator may pay us a commission. That is how this website is paid for, and we would rather say so plainly than bury it.

Here is what that money does not do. It does not set the ranking. It does not set the score. It does not buy a paragraph, a placement or the removal of a criticism. Both brands currently on our shortlist carry commercial arrangements, and both carry published criticisms — which is the point. The full arrangement is described on the Disclosure page.

We do not sell your data, and we do not run advertising networks on this website. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what we do and do not collect.

Who we are

EdgePeak is published by EdgePeak Media Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, with its correspondence address at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.

We are not a gambling operator. We do not accept stakes, hold customer funds or arrange any transaction, and we are not licensed by the Gambling Commission — nor do we need to be, because we do not carry out any licensable activity. Our role is to publish independent editorial about operators who are licensed.

Editorial enquiries, corrections and reader reports go to hello@edgepeak.co.uk, or use the contact form. We read everything, and reader reports about withdrawal delays or support failures feed directly into the next scoring sweep.
